I added some css code to the page, and drew a background image in Inkscape. LINK
The background image is centered, and the css makes the links turn different colors.
What tool did you use to create the web page? It is saved as HTML 4.01 Transitional. I'd like you to use HTML 5.
I see a png containing an image of the ace of spades. Is that the "background image" you created with inkscape? Did you then use inkscape to render it as a png?

I was having trouble to get the images to display in the .svg format. I'm going to start over with HTML 5.
